The 2711-NM12 is a memory card module that is made by Allen-Bradley. It is a PCMCIA linear flash module that is intended for use with operator terminals. This module is used for backing up data used for programs as well as user data that is needed to be stored in a non-volatile format. This module has the data holding capacity of 1 MB. Compatible products include the PanelView series of operator terminals manufactured by Allen-Bradley. It can be used with the standard as well as the 1000e and 1400e variants of the PanelView series. Series B and selected earlier models of the PanelView 550 terminals are not compatible with this memory card. Touch screen only models do support this memory card. This module is required to be kept free from extreme temperatures, direct sunlight, as well as moisture in order to prevent the possibility of damage or loss of data. The memory card is fragile and should not be flexed or subjected to extreme shock. Using excessive force while installing this card can also damage the connector pins. The location of the card slot depends on the model of the terminal. For terminals that have vertical card slots, the card key slot needs to face the right side of the terminal and horizontal slots require the key slot to be on the top side. Other card variants in this series have different storage capacities including 256 KB, 2 MB, 4 MB, and 10 MB. These cards can be used to transfer data from a drive on a personal computer or a card reader to the PanelView terminal.
