The Allen-Bradley 2711-K6C2L1 terminal is an electronic operator terminal and belongs to the PanelView 600 series. The operator terminal is provided with an in-built DH-485 communication port that can be used to send relay messages to I/O devices over the DH-585 communication network. The operator can use the network to initiate systems functions and applications as well as monitor and control the status of operations within the control system. The DH-485 communication ports are equipped to handle efficient point-to-point communication with a variety of logic controllers. A 1747-UIC communication cable can be used with the DH-485 communication network to connect with remote devices. The 2711-K6C2L1 terminal uses a keypad as a primary input device. The user can enter a range of characters including alphanumerics, variables and ASCII characters into the terminal using the keypad. The interface also supports decimal and negative values and can communicate these values to the control system with speed and efficiency. Cursor keys are also present on the terminal screen and allow the user to select numeric entries or configuration options based on the system’s requirements. These terminals function on the operating temperature code T4 (maximum operating temperature of 135°C or 275°F). A COMM status indicator is also built into the terminal and flashes a green color to indicate that a successful communication link has been established between the operator terminal and the machines within the control system.
