The Allen-Bradley 2711-T10G14 is a member of the Allen-Bradley / Rockwell Automation PanelView 1000 Terminal Series. The terminal is fitted with a 10.1-inch grayscale display with a resolution of 640 x 480 pixels. As a keypad terminal, the 2711-T10G14 has 16 function keys labeled F1 to F16 and a set of numeric keys. The keys provide feedback to the user as they are domed and have a stainless steel membrane. This also makes them very durable and can provide the user with over one million presses. The terminal also has a clock that is backed by batteries and allows the user to timestamp important data. The terminal houses an RS-232 printer port that can be used to connect to a printer and print and data. Printing is a background operation and does not affect the working and functions of the operator terminal. The user can also connect to a personal computer to transfer files, data, and applications using this port. The operator terminal is also equipped with a Modbus communication port which allows it to communicate with other controllers and devices. It takes an input power of 85 to 264 Volts of alternating current. It can be stored at temperatures as low as -30 degrees Celsius or as high as 80 degrees Celsius. Although it should be noted that it can be stored at these extremes only for a maximum period of 240 hours. It is equipped with a memory stick that can be used to store data and applications. The device is enclosed within a NEMA Type 12/13 or 4X enclosure which provides good ventilation and ensures that the controller can be used for an increased amount of time. It should be noted that the enclosure is not waterproof and that the controller should be mounted at a location that is safe from water sprays and splashes.
