The Allen-Bradley Powerflex 700S High Performance AC drive 3-phase, adjustable frequency AC drive unit is a factory and industrial automation workhorse. This unit operates on an input voltage of 480 Volts AC with a total current of 22 Amps and a power rating of 15 Horsepower (Normal Duty) or 10 Horsepower (Heavy Duty). Although this Powerflex 700S possesses no braking resistor and no DriveLogix Expansion, it does include the IGBT braking system and standard incremental encoder. This unit has an expanded cassette as well as additional configuration via Phase II control for installations using a second encoder board.
In its current configuration, this Powerflex 700S has a blank cover rather than a Human Interface Module (HIM) or operator interface. The blank cover is enclosed with an IP20-rated NEMA Type 1 enclosure. This Powerflex 700S includes the instruction manual in English only. It should be stated that for local control, a Human Interface Module will be required in order to complete the Start-Up procedure, so please ensure that you have an appropriate interface to deploy and operate this drive unit. If you do not intend to use local control, please ensure that you have appropriate remote communications equipment to interface with the drive unit remotely. Internal components of this drive unit are sensitive to Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) and appropriate safeguards must be taken during installation and operation to avoid damage. As with all such equipment, this drive unit should be installed by qualified installers only. Careful attention must be paid to grounding, and it is vital that ground impedance meets all local and national electrical codes.
