GE Fanuc manufactures the IC697MEM733 memory module, a 256 KB CMOS expansion memory module. The IC697MEM733 memory module, which is part of the Series 90-70, is used to provide both logic and data memory. It is frequently used with the GE 789, 788, 782, 781, and 780 CPU modules, where it is inserted as a daughter board and slotted beside the CPU module it serves. No additional installation slot is required for the IC697MEM733 memory module. This memory extension module may be configured to store either data or programs. Additionally, the IC697MEM733 memory module has a lithium battery that is typically mounted on the baseboard of the housing CPU. The lithium battery is a critical component for memory preservation, particularly in the event of a power outage.
