The GE Fanuc Emerson IC697MDL940 is an output relay module that includes sixteen output points that deliver a voltage of either 120 volts AC to 240 volts AC at a frequency range from 47 hertz to 63 hertz or 5 volts DC, 24 volts DC or 125 volts DC. The module contains eight individually well-isolated Form C outputs and two groups of four Form A outputs. These outputs are labeled with green LED indicators to show the on/off status of outputs. This module employs the backplane optical isolation offered by optocouplers to provide electrical isolation of 500 volts AC continuously between Form C outputs or Form A groups and 1500 volts AC between outputs and the backplane. The IC697MDL940 can be easily mounted in any input or output slots of the Field Control system. The output module provides an on response time of 10 milliseconds and an off response time of 10 milliseconds. The module has another LED indicator labeled “FUSE OK” that indicates the fuse state of outputs that are protected with 3 amperes fuses.
The IC697MDL940 draws a current of 750 milliamperes at a backplane voltage of 5 volts DC. The module outputs deliver a current of 100 milliamperes to 2 amperes per point for resistive loads and from 50 milliamperes to 1 ampere for inductive loads. This device can be employed with Series 90-70 PLCs for incandescent and inductive loads. The module has an RC snubber protection circuit that includes a resistor of 47 ohms and a capacitor of 15 nanofarads. This output module doesn’t require DIP switches or jumpers to be programmed and configured. This device can be programmed and configured with either MS-DOS or Windows through either the Ethernet TCP/IP or the SNP port. The IC697MDL940 weighs approximately 860 grams (1.9 pounds) while shipping and operates at 0 degrees to 60 degrees Celsius (32 degrees to 140 degrees Fahrenheit) for industrial applications.
