The IC697MDL325 is a discrete input module from the GE Fanuc 90-70 Series. The module is comprised of four (4) isolated groups of input points with each group containing eight (8) points. These four isolated groups of input points can be used on a different phase of the AC power supply. This 120 Volts AC input module is equipped with an input filter of 20 milliseconds and is compatible with a proximity switch. The LEDs on the module indicate ON and OFF status for each point on the PLC/logic side of the circuit and are located easily at the top of the module. The IC697MDL250 input module is keyed mechanically to guarantee proper replacement with a similar field type. I/O references are easily configurable, eliminating the DIP switches or jumper requirements. Configuration can be done with MS-DOS or Windows programming software, and the function is already installed on the module.
The IC697MDL250 can be used with a variety of input devices such as limit switches, pushbuttons, selector switches, and electronic proximity switches. The input circuitry of the module allows lower heat dissipation, which helps in longevity, and reliability. The module is also equipped with a mechanical key to helping prevent accidental substitution of wrong connection types in the given slot. The key can fit a specifically shaped spot on the board below the connector. When the module is installed, the key fastens onto the center rail of the backplane. When removing the module, the key stays in the center rail, requiring the slot to only take similar module types. If the user wants to change the location of the module in the rack after the module is attached to the rack, the mechanical key needs to be removed by pushing up and unhooking the latch. The module and the key can be reinserted as required.
