The IC693MDL752 is a 5/24 Volt DC TTL Negative Logic Output module designed by GE Fanuc Automation for the Series 90-30 of PLC systems. The module has thirty-two (32) sinking type or negative logic output points and uses 32 bits of discrete %Q output data. The 32 outputs of the module are arranged into four groups; A, B, C, and D; each group comprising of eight (8) outputs numbered 1 to 8, and each group also has its own common. The IC693MDL752 can be installed in any Series 90-30 PLC system that has a 5 or 10 I/O slot baseplate. All four (4) groups of the module have user I/O connectors carrying two pins. Each pin on the connectors has a capacity of handling a current of 3 Amperes. It is recommended to make connections to both the pins when connecting the common for applications that require a high current between 3 to 4 Amperes.
The IC693MDL752 can be operated in two different modes: Transistor-Transistor Logic mode, or TTL, and a 12/24 Volt mode. In the TTL mode, the outputs of the module can switch user loads across +5 Volts DC. In the 12/24 Volt mode, the user loads can be switched in the range +12 to 24 Volts DC. The output points in TTL mode can sink a current of 25 milliamperes per point and 0.5 Amperes per point in the 12/24 Volt mode. Each group of outputs can be utilized in the operating mode appropriate to the load requirements of the specific application. Group A can be applied to TTL load task, Group B to 12 Volt DC loads, and group C and D that can be applied to load tasks of 24 Volts DC. When mixing the operating modes of the module, it is important to take cognizance of electrical noise and its effect on the system.
