The IC698CMX016 is a control memory exchange module manufactured by the GE Fanuc Automation from the RX7i series. This communication module is used for the PACSystems RX7i Programmable Logic Controllers. It provides a high communication exchange rate between CPUs and devices attached to the RX7i PLCs. The module is easy to install and configure according to the requirements and standards of the RX7i Series PACSystems PLCs. This module can be installed in one of the racks of the RX7i PLC and doesn’t require using any additional protocols for operations. The effective data rate used by the IC698CMX016 control memory module is 2.12 Gigabauds and the module doesn’t provide isolation between the connections. The reflective memory capacity of the module is up to 16 Megabytes and the maximum supported distance between the modes is a maximum of 300 Meters.
In the worst-case scenario, the IC698CMX016 module has an access time of 400 nanoseconds, while at the best, the access time is 200 nanoseconds. The module provides a transfer rate of 6.2 Megabytes per second without using redundant transfers and a rate of 3.2 megabytes per second using redundant transfers. It is used with LC type connectors and multimode fiber optic cables (up to 1000 meters). The operating current of the module is 1.2 Amperes drawn from a 5 Volt Bus. For configuring the module, Proficy Machine Edition Logic Developer Software version 4.5 or later is used. It comes with 256 nodes per network and can perform redundant transfer mode operations. This mode of operation can reduce the chances of data drop or loss in the network.
