The GE Fanuc Emerson IC695PNS001 is a PROFINET scanner module that offers the possibility to interface the controller to either RX3i modules or remote universal racks. This scanner supports SDHC and SD cards. This device contains RJ-45 and Micro-B USB 2.0 connectors. The scanner has also Ethernet ports and SFP cages. The module can communicate with a data rate of 10 megabits per second, 100 megabits per second, and 1000 megabits per second. This scanner draws a current of 1.1 amperes at a voltage of +5 volts DC and 1.2 amperes at a voltage of 3.3 volts DC. The IC695PNS001 includes thirty-two input status bits and output control bits. This device has eight LED indicators that provide twenty-two patterns to show the current status of the module. The IC695PNS001 is compatible with CPE310, CPE305, CPU320, and CPU315 RX3i CPUs.
The IC695PNS001 scans the rack modules and exchanges data within the PROFINET I/O LAN. This module supports five MAC addresses and one CIDR IP address. The scanner is an open-type module and should be mounted in an enclosure to protect the internal circuitry. The IC695PNS001 can be mounted in either Slot 6 of an RX3i 7-slot backplane or Slot 1 or Slot 2 of an RX3i universal backplane. This unit supports a non-condensing relative humidity range from 5 percent to 95 percent and a vibration frequency range from 10 hertz to 500 hertz. The IC695PNS001 weighs approximately 510 grams (1.12 pounds) while shipping and operates at 0 to 60 degrees Celsius (32 degrees to 140 degrees Fahrenheit) for industrial applications.
The Ethernet ports on the GE Fanuc / Emerson Automation IC695PNS001 support data transfer at 10/100/1000 megabytes per second. It is a type of single slot wide module. It is primarily used to manage the various Profinet connections. This scanner module can be used for communication purposes with remote I/O devices. It can also communicate with the universal I/O backplanes. Using the Profinet network, it can also exchange I/O data with all the connected CPUs. Communicating with personal computers in the network is very easy with this module. It is also used for communicating with human machine interface (HMI), supervisory control, and data acquisition (SCADA). It can also establish communication with other similar automation components. The single micro-USB port is ideally used for installing firmware upgrades.
Part number IC695PNS001 comes with four (4) embedded Ethernet ports, all of which support the Profinet protocol. Furthermore, all four ports support modern communication speeds. With the SFP modules, two (2) small form factor (SFP) ports should be installed. These ports are easily pluggable. This enables the conversion of fiber optic media to a regular network. The installation, and configuration for this module are relatively easy. Users can save information such as the I/O device name, and the IP address on the built-in SD card. Users can use this data by inserting this same SD card into other Profinet scanner modules. The rated internal power on this module is 1.2 amperes at 3.3 volts direct current (DC). One-point-one (1.1) amperes at a 5 volt direct current (DC) voltage rating is the rated maximum power of this device.
