IC695GCG001 communication gateway belongs to the RX3i Genius and is manufactured by GE Fanuc. The IC695GCG001 module has a Simplex Genius serial bus that can be used for interfacing Genius I/O devices with an I/O controller by PROFINET. The module can act as a Genius bus controller in a Genius network. The communication gateway IC695GCG001 provides two RJ-45 Ethernet ports that allow users to connect the module to the GE PROFINET controller. Each port operates independently through an Ethernet switch embedded in the module. It comes with four indicator LEDs that display the status of the module and the operations. The four LEDs are “POWER”, “OK”, “FAULT”, and “CONNECT”. It also includes two additional indicator LEDs for displaying the status of the Genius Bus and these LEDs are “COM” and “BUS B” LEDs.
IC695GCG001 communication gateway can scan the I/O devices that are connected to the serial bus while the module exchanges the data retrieved from the PROFINET I/O controller, connected through the Ethernet ports. It can also be used to manage the I/O status of the configured modules, even when the communication is interrupted between these devices. IC695GCG001 can handle as many as 31 Genius modules on a single serial bus. This communication gateway module also has six Genius serial terminal bus connectors. It requires a user-supplied power source of 24 Volts. It requires a maximum current of 0.2 Amperes. A screw terminal block at the bottom of the module is used for connecting the power supply. An SD card slot is provided with the module that supports a non-volatile memory card for storage purposes.
