The RX3i GE Fanuc Series-based IC695EDS001 Outstation Module/DNP3 Slave is a device that uses a conventional IP/Ethernet TCP connection technique to pair an RX3i controller with a DNP3 network. The DNP3 outstation module GE Fanuc IC695EDS001 is designed for the RX3i PACSystems platforms where it can be integrated into any empty slot of the RX3i rack. The rack can support up to four IC695EDS001 modules at a time. It is a type of Ethernet module. The GE IC695EDS001 supports Ethernet protocols like the TCP/IP, and the LLA. When the module is set up on an RX3i backplane, the system acts as an outstation device. After it is connected to the DNP3 networks, it can then communicate with the 8 DNP3 master networks. In addition, an RX3i CPU can support up to 32 DNP3 masters at the same time. Furthermore, it can support 20,000 DPN3 events. Moreover, the IC695EDS001 allows automatic data transfer between connected DNP3 masters.

Moving forward, an RS232 port with one 9-pin D-connector with two 10/100 megabytes per second Ethernet ports with a female RJ-45 interface are available as primary communication interfaces on this module. The RS-232 port can be used for various tasks like network management. The integrated network switch offers broad functionality including crossover detection, auto-negotiate, sense, and speed functions. In the case of the host CPU not including a serial port, a software tool is used to upgrade the module firmware. Some additional information: 01 MAC address, & 01 IP address are supported for every unit of IC695EDS001 module, Ethernet firmware can be restarted without power-cycling by using the restart button provided, The module needs a maximum current of 840 milliamps at 3.3 volts (Direct Current) and 614 milliamps of current at 5 volts (Direct Current).
