The ES0611 module is driven by Microsoft Windows CE.NETTM, an OS that enables rapid application program development. It offers a straightforward and basic operator interface. The accessibility of third-party software applications adds to the appeal of this operating system. The ES0611 includes a color flat-panel display. The backlit color model spans 5.7 inches in a diagonal direction and employs passive STN technology. It has a display mode of  320 x 240 pixels and 65,536 colors. All variants have a backlit timer. To increase the lifespan of the backlight (which is 40,000 hours in this case), simply switch it off. The ES0611 module features several connection interfaces (Ethernet and serial communication), including an extension bus, allowing for tremendous application versatility. The rear panel of the ES0611 opens to allow access to the memory expansion and expansion bus connectors, DIP switches, as well as the battery. The module has a basic touch screen interface. The software can be configured for a soft keyboard. The ES0611 has 32 MB of flash memory, 32 MB of DRAM, 512 KB of SRAM, and 512 KB of ROM. To extend the memory storage, the compact flash (CF) port of Type 2 is also available. It has a slot to increase SDRAM memory. Its functionality can be increased by the use of an expansion bus as well as some optional modules. To power up this module, a direct current (DC) source is required. The output of this supply should have a range of 12 to 30 volts.
