The IC670MDL740 is a DC Positive Output Module from GE Fanuc Automation. The module consists of sixteen (16) sourcing type discrete outputs that can switch the loads to the positive side of the power supply. The power required for the operation of the module is supplied through the power supply of the Bus Interface Unit (BIU). The output module also allows the users to connect external power supply using a 5 Ampere fuse. The module also has individual LEDs for each output on the logic side and these LEDs are visible through the transparent portion of the upper plate of this output module. The outputs of the module can switch the load within a range of 10 Volts to 30 Volts DC with a voltage of 24 Volts DC and the maximum current of 4 Amperes.
The IC670MDL740 Output Module also consists of an output module with an output voltage range of 9.2 Volts to 29.5 Volts DC, maximum output current of 0.5 Amperes per output point, and a maximum output current of 4 Amperes per module. This output module draws 111 milliamperes of current from the Bus Interface Unit’s power supply. The 5 Ampere protection fuse located at the output points can protect the module against noise transients and incorrect polarity in the power supply. The incorrect connections to the power supply can cause this fuse to blow. A blown fuse needs to be replaced immediately to avoid further damages. The IC670MDL740 output module allows the users to detect if the fuse is blown or not. The output module has keying locations, and these locations are labeled as A, C, J, and K. It also includes optoisolators, which isolate the field output from the module’s logic components.
