The IC670MDL331 is an isolated output module by GE Fanuc. The isolated output module is a member of the GE Field Control product family. This module has eight (8) outputs arranged into four (4) isolated groups, each having two (2) output points. These four output groups are isolated from each other. The IC670MDL331 runs on power that it draws from the power supply of the Bus Interface Unit. To power the additional loads, an external AC power source is required. The LED indicators are available on the logic side of the IC670MDL331 module and these indicators are visible from the translucent section on the top of the module. These LED indicators show the ON and OFF states of each output. The LED indicators are labeled as “F1 PWR”, “F2 PWR”, “F3 PWR”, and “F4 PWR”. It has a 120 Volt AC voltage rating and a voltage range of 85 to 132 Volts AC at a frequency of 47 to 63 Hertz. It has a maximum output current of 2 Amperes per point and a maximum of 6 to 8 Amperes per module.
The IC670MDL331 isolated output module also draws a maximum current of 154 milliamperes from the Bus Interface Unit’s power supply. The isolation voltage rating of the module is 250 Volts AC continuous and 1500 Volts AC for 1 minute for the user input to logic isolation and user input to frame ground isolation. The input points within a group don’t have isolation. Some characteristics of the IC670MDL331 output module include 3 Volts of maximum output voltage drop, 2 milliamperes of output leakage current at 120 Volts AC, and 20 Amperes of maximum inrush current rating per cycle with each cycle of 20 microseconds.
