This IC670ALG240 module has 16 distinct channels for input current that range from 0 to 25 mA. This module uses word data type and bit data type with the capability of field recalibration and reset calibration. Flash memory is used for storing calibration data. This module has a 50 and 60 Hertz line frequency data acquisition rate. Noise elimination is also supported in this module through 20-millisecond digital filtering with selectable scaling for the selection of data. Each input channel of the module has its Low Alarm and High Alarm which can be configured easily. It also provides reporting of low/high, under-range and over-range, and open-wire alarms.
This module stores its 16 samples in a buffer. The module is configured from a bus interface unit (BIU). The configurations of the module can be easily read and written from the bus of a compatible system. All input data is provided to BIU from the module and takes clearance of fault commands from BIU through designated output bits. It also features a channel active status, indicating active and inactive channels. A variety of filters such as input filters, line filters, and averaging filters are used for reducing noise effects, and both hardware and software configurable filters are too used for reducing noise. Eleven (11) bytes of data are designated for performing diagnostics. The right bit is set after detection of the diagnostic condition; this is an easy to configure module with enhanced capability of clearing faults and alarms. Sixteen (16) bits of discrete output data are used for clearing module and alarm faults. This IC670ALG240 module is compatible with BIU revision 2.0 and its later versions.
