The SP-145479 is a standalone adapter board that works with the Allen Bradley Bulletin 1395 series of digital DC drives. This module is used to provide an I/O interface that allows external input devices to control the drive and activate electrical loads. Four (4) 115-volt AC, optically isolated, programmable, 10-milliampere discrete inputs and two (2) programmable relay outputs with a current of 0.6 amperes at 125 volts AC and 2.0 amperes at 30 volts DC are included with the SP-145479. Also included with this device are four (4) 12-bit +/- 10 volts DC analog inputs and four (4) +/- 10 volts DC analog outputs. The SP-145479 connects to the main control board of the host unit via port A or port B and connects to the internal microbus interface. The module's J1 connector, which uses a 60-pin ribbon connector, connects to the main control board. Other connections to the discrete adapter include a connection to the digital I/O hardware at J3 with 12 discrete wires, a connection to the analog I/O hardware at J4 with 20 discrete wires, and a connection to the in-line I/O at J6 with a 9-pin ribbon cable. The SP-145479 also comes with factory-installed jumpers such as J5 and J2 which should not be changed. When installing SP-145479, the host unit must be powered down to connect the board connectors to the main control board. The electrical component is extremely susceptible to electrostatic discharge and anti-static devices. Additionally, proper grounding must be used when handling the discrete adapter card.
