Part number 4100-232-R is a servo motor controller. It is an Allen-Bradley IMS Class controller with a 16-megahertz Intel 80960SB central processing unit (CPU) attached. This controller has a write-protect battery backup and RAM. Up to two (2) motion axes can be controlled using the 4100-232-R. Remote input or output is a feature of the module. It makes use of a 1794-ASB Flex I/O remote I/O adapter, which can handle up to eight (8) Flex I/O modules at once. Up to ten (10) dedicated discrete inputs, five (5) per axis, are possible with connected Flex I/O modules. The controller stores up to 2000 user-defined values using 16-bit floating-point integers. The electronic CAM on this servo motor controller allows it to control the motion profile in all axes. It has a total of 26,000 CAM points, with 13,000 master CAM points and 13,000 slave CAM points. Individually programmable analog current or voltage signals are isolated. The output kinds are configured using an internal switch devoted to each axis. The voltage output resolution is 10 volts direct current (DC), and the current output resolution is 150 micro amperes. Three hundred and five (305) micro volts per bit, or 4.58 micro amperes per bit, is the output resolution for 16 bits. Applications are transferred to the module's RAM or cache memory through the RS-232C field communications link. This unit measures 355.6 mm x 279.4 mm x 165.1 mm and it has an approximate weight of 7.7 kilograms, or 16.9 pounds.
