To control the switching of powerful, demanding motor control systems, the Allen-Bradley 100-D140D11 contactor is very much capable of handling the switching task. This contactor can switch an inductive load of 140 amperes at an AC-1 rating or 250 amperes at an AC-3 rating. The 100-D140D11 is a (3) three-pole contactor that features two (2) auxiliary contact terminals with normally open and normally closed configurations. Since the device can handle a high amount of current, it is recommended to keep the device in a cool area to prevent overheating. The maximum temperature of the surrounding area should be 60 degrees Celsius. The contactor supports a power rating of 50 horsepower at 230 volts AC at a 60 hertz frequency or 125 horsepower at 575 Volts AC at a 60 hertz frequency.
All the contactors in the 100-D series are made using environmentally friendly materials and are made for panel mounting only. The terminals on the contactor are thru-hole threaded screw-type that can be accessed from the front for easy use. The coil is controlled using an AC supply of 110 volts 50 Hz or 120 volts 60 Hz. The optional accessories for this device are the IP20 terminal block, terminal lugs, terminal covers, mechanical/electrical interlocks, surge suppressors, and external auxiliary contacts. The contactor has compact dimensions and can be easily mounted in a panel box, which is recommended. All the contactors are equipped with electronic or conventional coils, have wide voltage ranges, feature low power pick-up & hold-in, and an integrated PLC interface.
