The 100-A18ND3 is a magnetic IEC series 100-A contactor from Allen-Bradley. The contactor is capable of switching current loads of approximately 18 amperes. This contactor is designed for controlling motor systems with an inductive load of 18 amperes. The 100-A18ND3 contactor has three pole connections with one normally open auxiliary contact. Magnetic contactors are a type of electrical relay that may be found on the majority of electrically-driven motors. It acts as a bridge between the power supply and electrical motors, diluting or balancing out fluctuations in electrical frequency caused by a power supply while also acting as a safety. The contacts on this model can be accessed from the front, and the terminals are screw-type terminals. This particular model supports motors with a power rating of 5 horsepower at 200 volts AC and 15 horsepower at 575 volts AC. The coil on this contact is rated at 110 volts at 50 hertz or 120 volts at 60 hertz. It is recommended to operate this contactor in an environment with an ambient temperature of 0 to 55 degrees Celsius. Mounting the device in a vertical position is highly recommended for the module to operate correctly. Install the device inside a panel box to prevent heat, dust, and moisture from affecting its performance. The terminals support wires of size 12 to 14 AWG. When replacing or installing this device make sure to disconnect it from the main supply to prevent any accidents. All the supported accessories and replacement parts are available for this contactor.
