This Allen Bradley module, the 5069-L310ERS2, is a programmable automation controller with integrated safety functionality. The controller is a Compact GuardLogix 5380 controller with SIL 2 rating. This controller is used in applications that require the specified SIL rating but do not require fault tolerance. The controller has 1 MB of user memory and 0.5 MB of safety memory, and it comes with 2 GB of non-volatile memory via 1784-SD2. It can be remotely accessed via its high-speed Ethernet port and programmed using the SFC, also known as the sequential function chart, along with the function block diagram, which is also written as FBD, as well as ladder diagram and structured text. It has two Ethernet ports, one USB-B port with a USB communication speed of 12 Mbps, and one Ethernet port with a speed of 10Mbps/100Mbps/1Gbps. The 5069-L310ERS2 has eight (8) I/O expansions and twenty-four (24) Ethernet/IP nodes. It can perform up to 31 standard tasks and 1 safety task at a time, with each task executing 1000 programs. 

The 5069-L310ERS2 module operates at 18 to 32 volts DC and has a power current rating of 475 milliamperes. The maximum power current rating is 5 amperes, which should never be exceeded. The module has a 1200-milliampere power inrush for 125 milliseconds and a power pass-through voltage of 18 to 32 volts DC at 4.525 amperes. At 9.99 amperes, the maximum sensor/actuator current rating is 10 milliamperes DC, with a pass-through voltage of 0 to 32 volts DC. The maximum S/A power current is 10 amperes with a DC power source. The maximum power dissipation of the 5069-L310ERS2 is 9 watts, and the maximum thermal dissipation is 30.9 BTU/hr. The dimensions of the 5069-L310ERS2 are 143.97 mm x 98.10 mm x 136.81 mm (5.67 inches x 3.86 inches x 5.39 inches) and it weighs approximately 1.69 pounds, or 768 grams.
