Allen-Bradley manufactured the Kinetix 5500 sequence Ethernet I/P Servo drive, known as the 2198-H040-ERS. The speed and direction of induction and servo motors are controlled by this drive. This drive, which has an installed architecture, was created up using the Studio 5000 conceptual design. The integrated architecture of the 2198-H040-ERS makes it simple to operate with Logix controller platforms like as CompactLogix system and ControlLogix control schemes.
The maximal response time of the 2198-H040-ERS drives approximately 12 milliseconds. The safe torque-off feature is integrated with it, however, an STO connector is required to connect other devices and disseminate safety links from one drive to the other. When a regulated digital input is given to the machine, it disables the power-transistor command signal. Because of this characteristic, the chance of failure is quite minimal. If the application does not require STO, extension jumper cords can indeed be utilized to avoid it. When STO is switched off, there are no output-power transistors. This puts the driver in a "coasting" state and prevents the vehicle from moving. It may be utilized both when the electricity is grounded and when it is not grounded. When dealing with grounded systems, it is common to leave the grounding screws in place. When working with ungrounded, impedance-grounded, or corner-grounded installations, they must be removed by hand.
The 2198-H040-ERS features a tiny, compact design that allows it to be installed directly on top of an enclosure's system that puts. When the 2198-KITCON-DSL connection kit is utilized, it may be used in temperatures ranging from 32 to 122 degrees Fahrenheit. It is protected with an IP20 rating.
The Allen Bradley 2198-H040-ERS Kinetix 5500 servo drive has an input voltage rated at 195 to 264 volts alternating current (AC) rms, three-phase with a nominal voltage of 240 volts. Additionally, it has a rated input voltage of 324 to 528 volts AC rms, three-phase with a nominal voltage of 480 volts. The AC input frequency range of this device is 47 to 63 hertz. The main AC input current of the Allen Bradley 2198-H040-ERS servo drive is 13.4 amperes at a voltage range of 324 to 528 volts AC rms, three-phase. The maximum inrush rating of this device is 30.0 amperes from 0 to peak performance. The peak input current of this servo drive is 40.2 amperes at a voltage range of 195 to 264 volts AC rms, single-phase. The line loss ride through time of this device is 20 milliseconds. The Allen Bradley 2198-H040-ERS has a maximum velocity loop bandwidth rating of 300 hertz. Additionally, it has a current loop bandwidth rating of 1000 hertz. Furthermore, the PWM frequency of this device is 4 kilohertz. This servo drive has a continuous output current of 13.0 amperes rms, as well as 18.4 amperes from 0 to peak performance. The peak output current of this device is rated at 32.5 amperes rms and 45.9 amperes from 0 to peak performance. The internal shunt resistance of this servo drive is 60 ohms, while the internal shunt power is rated at 50 watts. The Allen Bradley 2198-H040-ERS servo drive has an efficiency rating of ninety-seven percent (97%).
