The 140M-I8P-C50S-CX is a motor protection circuit breaker by Allen-Bradley. It is an adjustable magnetic protection device offering high capacity circuit breaking. This circuit breaker is designed for industrial applications such as hoisting devices, industrial conveyor belts, and elevators. It has 1 NO and 1 NC (Left) auxiliary/trip contact and is rated for 205 Amperes of frame current. This device has 3 poles and comes in a Size I frame. It is designed to be fully compatible with Allen-Bradley contactors and overload relays. It has an MCP Continuous Current Rating of 50 Amperes. The 140M-I8P-C50S-CX offers visible trip indication, local on-off switching, isolation features, and auto reset function after experiencing a fault, however, it does not offer a current limiter function. This circuit breaker is usable as a self-protected manual motor controller with the individual motor and conductors being protected for short circuits. The 140M-I8P-C50S-CX is designed to protect against electrical faults including line-to-ground and line-to-line faults. This device provides added value by combining the functions of a low voltage circuit breaker and a thermal overload relay. It includes accessories such as trip indication contacts and external rotary operators. The contact integrated into the 140M-I8P-C50S-CX has a high circuit breaking capacity and offers minimal heat dissipation at the rated operational current. Installation of this unit at the line side of a drive provides branch circuit protection to counter short circuits. Installation at the output side of a drive helps to reduce current harmonics and voltage pulses. The 140M-I8P-C50S-CX weighs approximately 4.5 pounds.
