Allen Bradley has produced and designed the 140M-I8E-D10 to serve as a motor protection circuit breaker, which was created specifically for motor isolation and branch circuit protection. At four hundred and eighty (480) volts, it has a maximum short circuit current of sixty-five (65) kilo-amperes and thirty (30) kilo-amperes at six hundred (600) volts. The breaker's rated operational current is one hundred (100) amperes, while the motor adjustment current range is eighty (80) to one hundred (100) amperes and the magnetic trip has a current rating of one thousand five hundred (1500) amperes. In addition to branch circuit protection, this Allen Bradley circuit breaker protects each motor from overload.
The feeder circuit conductors must be connected to an upstream protective device for additional protection, and this breaker does not require additional protection. This device has three-phase power ratings consisting of 30 horsepower (Hp) at 200 volts, 40 horsepower (Hp) at 230 volts, 75 horsepower (Hp) at 460 volts, and 100 horsepower (Hp) at 575 volts. Moreover, depending on the voltage used, the interruption current of this product ranges from thirty (30) to seventy (70) kilo-amperes.
The temperature range of the breaker's trigger is -25 to 75 degrees Celsius. High ambient temperatures can affect the breaker's trigger temperature, causing it to fail. Furthermore, the module also includes feed-thru connections, and aluminum or copper 75 degrees Celsius wiring is recommended. This Allen Bradley circuit breaker has a magnetic field-protected I frame and the AIC rating of this circuit breaker at f480 volts is 65 kilo-amperes. If operators want to improve the performance of the breaker, they can proceed and add external accessories. Metal housings and screw adapters along with anti-tamper shields and locking tags, as well as extension shafts are some of the accessories available.
