For load isolation, the 100S-D420ED22C is an ideal contactor. It can be used in a control system that is required to run high power loads. The 100S-D420ED22C safety contactor relies on opening time, hence the contactor has an opening time of less than 20 milliseconds. To isolate from a hazardous load, the job of a safety contactor is to disconnect it from the entire control system. The 100S-D420ED22C operates at an ambient temperature of a maximum of 65 degrees Celsius. If operated at a temperature above this maximum, the device will be expected to heat up. The 100S-D420ED22C has a storage temperature range of maximum 90 degrees Celsius. 

The 100S-D420ED22C is typically used in feedback control systems for removing isolating the load from a control system. The device has screw-type terminals that are IP2X protected. Various accessories can be used with the 100S-D420ED22C, such as electronic timers, mechanical latches, terminal shrouds, auxiliary contacts, and surge suppressors to suppress voltage spikes from a de-energizing coil. Make sure to wear protective gloves when removing or replacing a contactor and wait a few minutes for the coil to discharge. The wires supported by the contactors are copper wires with 12-14 AWG diameters. The contacts on the contactors in the 100S series are gold-plated and bifurcated. The device is tested for shock and vibrations. This device has IEC, CSA, UL, and a third party, SUVA certification.
