The Allen-Bradley Rockwell Automation FLEX Ex Analog I/O module 1797-IE8NF accepts up to eight analog inputs in the current ranges of 4 to 20 Milliamperes or 0 to 20 Milliamperes, which is the default. The resolution is 16 bits and transfer accuracy at 20°C (68°F) is 0.1% of the output signal range; temperature drift is 0.005% per degree Celsius of output signal range. The functional data range exceeds 15 volts at 22 Milliamperes and 21.5 volts at 0 Milliamperes. The data format is configurable and step response to 99% of FS is 4 milliseconds. The module from adapter has a best update time of 50 microseconds and worst update time of 1450 microseconds. There are eight red fault indicators and one green power LED. The module has field side power consumption of 7.5 Watts and a dissipation rate of 5.2 Watts with thermal dissipation of 17.75 BTU per hour. The overall dimensions of the unit are 46 x 94 x 75 millimeters (1.8 x 3.7 x 2.95 inches) and it weighs about 200 grams. It has an acceptable temperature range of -20 to 70 degrees Celsius when in service and -40 to 85 degrees when out of service, so long as there is no condensation and relative humidity is in the range of 5 to 95%. The sturdy unit can withstand shock of 15 g peak acceleration 11 ms pulse width while operational or in storage or transit.
