The 1794-IRT8XT is an input module that is made by Allen-Bradley. This unit is part of the FLEX I/O series. It is an RTD, thermocouple, and millivolt input module with support for up to eight analog inputs in two groups of four. The module has a nominal input voltage of 24 Volts DC and accepts an input voltage range between 19.2 and 31.2 volts DC. The input current draw is rated at 95 milliamperes at the nominal input voltage. Supported thermocouple types include B, E, J, K, L, N, R, S, and T type thermocouples. The nominal input voltage range for thermocouples is between -40 millivolts and 100 millivolts DC. Compatible RTD input types include two-wire, three-wire, and four-wire RTDs. The nominal input voltage range for RTDs is between 0 and 325 millivolts. Supported terminal base unit models include 1794-TB3G, 1794-TB3GS, and 1794-TB3GK. The required wire size is determined by the terminal base used. The module has one power status indicator and eight open input indicators. It features immediate open input detection and offers overvoltage protection of up to 15 volts DC continuous. The module is designed to be used in industrial environments and can operate in environments rated as Pollution Degree 2. The operating temperature range for the 1794-IRT8XT is between -4 degrees to 158 degrees Fahrenheit (-20 to 70 degrees Celsius). It can operate at up to 2000 meters of altitude (6562 feet) without requiring any de-rating. This module has approximate dimensions of 3.7 x 3.7 x 2.7 inches (94 x 94 x 69 millimeters) with the module installed in the base.
