The Allen-Bradley 1794-IE12 is an analog input module. A wide range of applications is supported by digital and analog modules, as well as a number of specialized modules. The RIUP (removal and insertion under power) feature allows you to connect cables and change modules while the system is still connected to power and running. Flex I/O-XT extreme environment modules are compatible with the ControlLogix-XT severe environment system. These environment systems should be operated within a temperature range of -4 to 185 degrees Fahrenheit, or -20 to 70 degrees Celsius.
Modules with conformal coating are available. Each Input/Output module requires a terminal base for Input/Output wire connection points. Many modules include input filters that may be selected. The Inputs of the module are single-ended or differential. The module also possesses internal calibration and onboard scaling. This device also consists of RTDs, thermocouples, and HART modules.

The module has a power dissipation of 1.1 watts at 24 volts, 1.2 watts at 31.2 volts, and 0.9 Watts at 10 volts with a 4.1 BTU/hr thermal dissipation. Being an analog input module, this device has a resolution voltage of 320 μV/cnt and a resolution current of 0.641 μA/cnt and it has a 16-bit unipolar and 15-bit bipolar resolution. The module has a successive approximation input conversion with a rate of 0.8 milliseconds and is eligible for all channels.
