Allen Bradley's 1794-IA8 digital input module is part of the Flex I/O family and this module is suitable for use in any non-hazardous industrial setting. This digital input module has eight numbered inputs ranging from 0 to 7. These are not isolated inputs. The 1794-IA8 input module is compatible with a number of Allen-Bradley terminal base units. The terminal base screw torque required by the module is determined by the terminal base utilized. The Allen-Bradley 1794-IA8 Flex I/O digital input module has voltage ratings of 65 Volts AC for the minimum on-state voltage, 120 Volts AC for the nominal on-state voltage, and 132 Volts AC for the maximum on-state voltage. The maximum voltage rating in the off-state is 43 volts AC. The current ratings of the input module are 7.1 milliamps for minimum on-state current, 14.32 milliamps for maximum on-state current, and 2.9 milliamps for minimum off-state current. At 132 Volts AC, the 1794-IA8 input module wastes 4.5 Watts of electricity and 15.3 BTU/hour of heat during operation. It performs best at temperatures ranging from -4 to 131 degrees Fahrenheit and may be securely kept at temperatures ranging from -40 to 185 degrees Fahrenheit. Moreover, the input impedance of the module is 10.6 k ohm along with a flexbus current of 30 mA at 5 VDC. it transforms signals to a suitable level for use with the processor. Furthermore, it consists of eight yellow status indicators and is fairly conveniently adjustable. Additionally, the device contains numerous communication options such as DeviceNet and ControlNet. Profibus DP and EtherNet/IP are also available on this device.
