Allen-Bradley’s 1791D-N4CV2X unit is a 1791D CompactBlock Input/Output (I/O) expansion module with a combination 4 channel input and 2 channel output modules. It has specifications that are different for both Inputs and Outputs. The Input specification includes four (4) input channels, which are either differential or single-ended. The operating current rating for this device is zero (0) to twenty (20) milliamperes (mA), while the full range for the current ranges from zero (0) to twenty-one (21) milliamperes (mA). The operating voltage rating ranges from zero (0) to ten (10) volts (V) direct current (DC) and the full range voltage of this device is zero (0) to ten-point-five (10.5) volts (V) direct current (DC). The conversion time per channel is 100 milliseconds (ms) at a frequency of 60 hertz (Hz). The typical input impedance and the nominal input impedance for both the current and voltage input are 200 kilo-ohms and 249 ohms, respectively. The resolution of the input is 12 bits.

For the output specifications, the module has 2 single-ended outputs which are configured individually for voltage or current. The specifications for the currents and voltages of the outputs are the same as the input specifications. The response Speed per Channel for output is 2.5 milliseconds (ms). The current load on voltage output is a maximum of 10 milliamperes (mA), and the resistive load on the current output is 0 to 500 ohms, including the wire resistance. The resistive load range on voltage output is 1000 ohms and is greater at a maximum of 10 volts (V).
