The Allen-Bradley 1791D-16B0X is an expansion module for Allen Bradley 1791D-16B0 base module which has 16-sinking inputs. Therefore, both of them, when connected, can provide 32 sinking inputs. The 1791D-16B0X and also 1791D-16B0 base module shares the philosophy of distributed control systems architecture that has a network as a bone of the system, in this case, the DeviceNet. This network connects all devices that have ian ntegrated DeviceNet I/O interface. The on-state voltage for this product can be from 10 to 25 volts DC (direct current) and off state maximum voltage is five (5) volts direct current. The ON and OFF currents are 2 to 11 milliamperes and 1.5 milliamperes, respectively. A master/slave communication type is this product's I/O communication. This communication type is used with numerous modes, such as change-of-state, poll, or cyclic connection. While in the poll mode, the master initiates communication and interaction by sending its polled I/O message to a compact module. The change-of-state mode can occur when there is a change in the input. Finally, the cyclic mode occurs when the block, at a configured rate, cyclically produces its I/O. The choice depends based on the application. The power for the base and extended modules is given by DeviceNet itself. The external power supply for this module has 5V DC and 100 milliamperes output current. The expansion module can be mounted via a panel or DIN rail. This product's temperature range recommended for operation should remain between thirty-two (32) and one hundred and forty (140) degrees Fahrenheit.
