The 1791-N4C2 analog module is made by Allen-Bradley. This is a 6-point analog module and is included in the Block I/O series. This module is compatible with PLC-2, PLC-3, as well as PLC-5/250 programmable logic controllers. It has 4 available analog inputs and 2 outputs for current. It features a power rating of 120 Volts AC and an input impedance of 10 Megaohms with an absolute accuracy within 0.1 percent at 25 degrees Celsius. Two outputs are provided per block and the output impedance is less than 1 Ohm. The two outputs are rated for 0 to 20 milliamperes of current. The 1791-N4C2 dissipates 16.9 Watts of power and the thermal dissipation rating is 57.6 BTU per hour. Connectivity with PLC controllers connected to an I/O network is provided via block transfer or a discrete transfer. Connectivity support is also provided for SLC series controllers via discrete transfer. The module’s independent inputs are also configurable as all current inputs or all voltage inputs. The module has a current-limited voltage source rated at 24 Volts DC that is provided to be compatible with current transducer inputs that are loop-powered. The voltage input may be either differential input or single-ended voltage. During installation, it should be ensured that the blocks are wired in series. Parallel installation is not supported. The number of required blocks depends on the application requirements. The block throughput is dependent on the data transfer rates of the connected controllers. This module’s dimensions are 176.5 x 68.8 x 98 millimeters (6.95 x 2.7 x 3.85 inches).
