Allen-Bradley manufactured the 1791-IOBX I/O module block. This device has sixty-four (64) input sink ports and sixty-four (64) output source ports. It features a plethora of tiny, self-contained input-output devices, as well as circuits for signal conditioning, I/O linkages, and a programmable interface. It contains a set of LEDs (light emitting diodes) that indicate the number of inputs and outputs, as well as individual LEDs for power, active, communication, and fuses. There are available pushbuttons provided to assist you in selecting the optimal whether input or output display. A rack address switch, a termination register switch, and switches for setting the device are also included. These are some of the options available with this switch. You may configure I/O groups, last states, racks, transmission rates, and rack addresses. On each side of the 1791-IOBX, there are four (4) independent, replaceable 37-pin terminal blocks. The 1791-IOBX is a single device that includes the functions of an I/O module, an I/O rack, an adapter, and a power supply. To use the device, users will require a 24-volt DC power source with current usage of 300 milliamperes (mA). The maximum heat dissipation rate is 86.2 BTU/hr and the maximum power dissipation rate is 25.2 watts. The 1791-IOBX has physical dimensions that measure 156.21 mm x 334 mm x 43.7 mm. With 14 AWG stranded wires, you may connect devices with insulation no thicker than 1.2 millimeters.
