The 1791-24BR is a block I/O module manufactured by Allen-Bradley. This relay output device can accommodate 24 input modules, divided into three (3) groups of eight (8) inputs. It has an on-state voltage range of 10 to 30 volts DC and an off-state voltage range of 5 volts DC. The on-state current is at least 2.5 milliamperes at 10 volts direct current (DC) and a maximum of 11 milliamperes at 30 volts direct current (DC), while the off-state current rating is a minimum of 1.5 amperes. This module's external power varies from 19.2 to 30 volts DC for the voltage, as well as 300 milliamperes for the current. Its maximum power waste is 14.5 watts, and its maximum thermal loss is 49.4 BTU/hour. It has a power supply to distant I/O, I/O group-to-group, and I/O group-to-logic isolation of 500 volts AC. For this module, the operational temperature is 0 to 60 degrees Celsius, the storage temperature is 40 to 85 degrees Celsius, and the non-condensing humidity level is 5 to 95 percent.

The 1791-24BR module has physical dimensions that measure 6.95 inches x 4.35 inches x 3.85 inches. These are self-contained remote I/O modules with their own input/output connectors, programmable controller interfaces, signal conditioning circuitry, and power sources. Its status indicators enable the operator to keep track of communication and input/output statuses. The terminal strips on the left side are used for distant I/O connections, input/output connections, and power. The two switch assemblies on the module allow an operator to select the I/O rack numbers, communication rate, beginning I/O group, final state, and last chassis.
