This 1788-MCHKR is a Media Checker machine that is used for detecting cable deformities and to calculate the length of cable in various physical mediums that are used in applying industrial protocols. The 1788-MCHKR is a battery-driven handy tool that can be used to assess ControlNet cables, DeviceNet cables, Data Highway Plus (DH+), Remote I/O, and Ethernet cables. You can check the wiring in ControlNet cables such as RG-6, RG-6F, and DS ¾, Ethernet cables (unshielded twisted pair, foil screened unshielded twisted pair), data highway plus cables (1770-CD, 9022, 9463), and DeviceNet cables (thick and thin cables).
The 1788-MCHKR Media Checker device comes with one carrying case, one resistive adapter cable identifier with a female DB-9 connector, interface cables and adapters, one (1) MediaChecker user manual, 1 quick reference card, and 2 AA 1.5-Volt alkaline batteries in a package. This machine is ideal for troubleshooting and maintenance purposes, as it only needs one operator to assess various cables. You can check split pair, incorrect pairing, wiring faults shorted wires, and open wires on a variety of twisted pair cables and coaxial cables employed for Ethernet. The Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) of the 1788-MCHKR Media Checker has two (2) lines and sixteen (16) characters on its display. The important information and data related to the operation of the machine are displayed in the output interface of the device. The device features enter, up, set up, and down that is meant for user interaction and configuration. A rotary backlight adjustment is also available in the device where the backlight can be set to turn on and off automatically after 1 minute. There are four (4) operating modes available in the device that include OFF, Test, length, and wire map.
