The 1788-CNCR ControlNet communication card, by Allen-Bradley, is a communication daughter card that is part of the 1788 Logix 5000 family of control system components. This ControlNet communication card helps link the PowerFlex 700S AC drives and FlexLogix system with I/O modules and external devices that are connected on the ControlNet network. This communication cardd give controllers the ability to configure, control, and monitor I/O modules that are connected remotely from the processor via the ControlNet network. The 1788-CNCR communication card also provides the controllers with the capability to bridge process messages over multiple networks including the DeviceNet, EtherNet, or RS-232 serial communication networks. The 1788-CNCR offers a wide range of functionalities which include the ability to manage and control distributed I/O modules, transfer scheduled data via message tags, communicate with other ControlNet nodes, support local communication via Network Access Port, and to allow burst messaging for programming purposes. The 1788-CNCR is installed on the backplane and draws 475 milliamps of maximum current. It has a wide operating temperature range from 0 to 60 degrees Celsius and a maximum thermal dissipation rating of 8.1 BTU per hour. The 1788-CNCR communication card comes in an open-type enclosure and it can be used in a 5 to 95% non-condensing ambient relative humidity range. This module has front-panel diagnostic and status LEDs.
