The Allen-Bradley 1783-ETAP is a sophisticated Ethernet/IP network port that is equipped with the Embedded Switch technology. The port is compatible with a variety of devices and can be configured over Ethernet/IP networks to enhance the communication capabilities of the industrial automation system. The port can be used as both a power port and a communication port and its versatile features allow it to be used in a wide array of industrial applications. The port can be assembled in accordance with the conductor rating and is used to specify the wire-category of the port. The port has to be isolated from the other electrical components in the control system to protect the device from electrical noise and sudden spikes in voltage. An isolation voltage rated at 30 volts of continuous voltage can be used to protect the port from electrical damage.
The Allen-Bradley 1783-ETAP network port is primarily used to accentuate the efficacy of the communication channels established within the control system. The port has a maximum channel length of 2 kilometers and is compatible with the North American temperature code of T5. The copper material of the port is an excellent conductor of electricity and facilitates improved communication between the components of the industrial automation system. The communication channels support the transfer of data and files and improve the accessibility of the system. The port has a maximum power consumption of 3 watts and a power dissipation of 3 watts. This device functions on an input power supply rated at 24 volts of direct current.
