The Allen-Bradley Compact 1769-IQ16F module belongs to the series of 1769 Compact I/O modules that can be used as an expansion Input/Output with a Micrologix 1500 controller in an assembly with either a 1769-ADN DeviceNet adapter or a AENTR Ethernet adapter or with a CompactLogix controller. If the module is not connected to a MicroLogix 1500 base, its bank will need to include and provide its own power supply. The module includes a finger safe terminal block for the connections with sensors. When the module is locked to the others, the overall system becomes a rugged assembly. The Allen-Bradley Compact 1769-IQ16F module is used as an input module for industrial standard 24 volts DC signals that can be either accessed as single bits or as one word of 16 bits. The actual range for the incoming input signals must be between 10 and 30 volts DC. The inputs of the Allen-Bradley 1769-IQ16F module are divided into 2 groups (with 8 inputs each) which have separate COM grounds. The module provides different sets of digital filters: 100 microseconds, 500 microseconds, 1 millisecond and 2 milliseconds. The module draws a current of 115 milliamps at 5.1 volts and has a maximum heat dissipation of 3.55 watts. The typical on and off input delay is about 100 microseconds from off to on (with a maximum value of 300 microseconds) and 250 microseconds from on to off (with a maximum value of 1 microsecond). The dimensions of the product are 118 x 35 x 87 millimeters (4.65x1.38x3.43 in.). The device can operate at a temperature between 0 degrees Celsius (32 degrees Fahrenheit) and 60 degrees Celsius (140 degrees Fahrenheit). The difference between the 1769-IQ16F module and the 1760-IQ16 is module is that the 1769-IQ16 module allows only “slow” signals and has an input delay of 8 microseconds while the 1769-IQ16F module allows faster varying high-speed signals.
This is Allen-Bradley’s 1769-IQ16F module. It is a DC high speed input module. It features 16 available voltage sourcing/sinking inputs. The nominal operating voltage is 24 Volts DC with an allowable input voltage range between 10 Volts and 26.4 Volts DC. The maximum off state voltage rating is 5 Volts DC at 1.5 milliamperes and the on state current is 2 milliamperes at 10 Volts DC. The power supply distance rating for the 1769-IQ16F is 8 modules. This module has an isolation voltage rating of 75 Volts and features IEC Class 2 reinforced insulation. The module has been tested at up to 1679 Volts DC for 1 second. This module features a digital filter component that has delay time options of 0 seconds, 100 milliseconds, 500 milliseconds, 1 millisecond, and 2 milliseconds. Mounting options for the 1769-IQ16F include mounting via DIN rail or using a panel mount. The torque rating for terminal screws is 6 pounds-inches. The operating temperature range for this unit is between 0 degrees and 60 degrees Celsius (32 degrees to 140 degrees Fahrenheit). The operating relative humidity range is between 5 percent and 95 percent non-condensing. The supported wire type is a stranded or solid copper wire with a wire size of 22-14 American Wire Gauge. The module weighs approximately 270 grams (0.6 pounds) and has shipping dimensions of 118 x 35 x 87 millimeters (4.65 x 1.38 x 3.43 inches).
