The Allen-Bradley 1769-IF8 compact voltage/current analogue input module has 8 differential or single-ended inputs each supports an input voltage rating of 30 volts AC/30 volts DC with different input voltage and current ranges starting from -10 volts DC to 10 volts DC and from 0 milliamps to 20 milliamps respectively. The 1769-IF8 has a resolution of 16 bits. This module converts and digitally stores analogue data voltage or current which can be employed by controllers such as the CompactLogix controller or the MicroLogix 1500 controller. The 1769-IF8 module can be employed in several applications mainly in the industrial field. For example, the 1769-IF8 module can be assembled with a 1769-ADN DeviceNet adapter or with a 1769-AENTR Ethernet adapter. The 1769-IF8 module can be mounted on well-grounded panels using two mounting M4 or #8 screws or on either EN 50 022 - 35 x 7.5 or EN 50 022 - 35 x 15 DIN rails. The 1769-IF8 input module dissipates an electrical power of 3.24 watts. The 1769-IF8 module has an OK status LED indicator which indicates that this device has power, run internal diagnostics, and can communicate over the network. This Allen-Bradley 1769-IF8 employs a digital programmable filter which provides noise rejection for the input signals. This Allen-Bradley 1769-IF8 voltage/current analogue input module can be supplied through 1769 Compact I/O power supplies such as 1769-PA2, 1769-PB2, 1769-PA4, 1769-PB4 which are Class 2-rated power supplies that match the input transmitter specifications except when connected to a MicroLogix 1500 base with a current consumption of 120 milliamps. The normal impedance of the 1769-IF8 module is 220 kilo-ohms for the voltage input and 250 ohms for the current input. This 1769-IF8 module supports shielded or twisted-pair Belden 8761 wire or equivalent wires. The Allen-Bradley 1769-IF8 module can be connected easily to either the controller or to an adjacent I/O module before or after mounting. The data of the 1769-IF8 module can be configured as engineering parameters in milliamps or volts, percent of range, for PID, raw /proportional data for high resolution. The 1769-IF8 analogue module is intended for use in a mainly industrial environment that is clean and dry. This module weighs approximately 450 grams (0.99 pounds) while shipping. This Allen-Bradley module works properly at 0 to 60 degrees Celsius (32 to 140 degrees Fahrenheit).
Part number 1769-IF8 is an Allen-Bradley compact I/O analog input module that is compatible with MicroLogix 1500 controllers and 1769 CompactLogix controllers. The conversion method type is Delta-Sigma for this module. It has 8 differential inputs and a voltage range of +/-10 volts direct current (DC), 0 to 10 volts direct current, 0 to 5 volts direct current, and 1 to 5 volts direct current. This device has a current range of 0 to 20 milliamperes and 4 to 20 milliamperes. The 1769-IF8 has a backplane draw a current of 120 milliamperes at 5 volts direct current, 70 milliamperes at 24 volts direct current, and it dissipates 3.64 watts of heat during normal operation.
This unit is limited to 120 milliamperes of bus draw current at 5 volts Dc and 70 milliamperes at 24 volts DC, with an input impedance of 220 and 250 ohms at the voltage and current terminals, respectively. The overload limit at the input terminal is +/-30 volts DC continuous, at the voltage terminal it is 0.1 milliamperes, and an overload of +/-32 milliamperes at +/- 7.6 volts DC.
The 1769-IF8 is capable of running self-diagnostics of over or under-range by-bit reporting automatically and is also able to process alarms. The processed data can be configured as raw data scaled for PID, engineering units, and the percent range. It weighs 450 grams (0.99 pounds) and measures 118 x 87 x 52.5 millimeters.
