An Allen Bradley product, the 1762-L40BWAR was designed to be a Programmable Logic Controller, or PLC. This controller is part of the MicroLogix 1200 series of products and can ideally be used in projects that require implementing micro and small automation requirements. The 1762-L40BWAR includes two (2) communication interfaces on the front panel, as well as the left panel. Additionally, both of the communication ports are mini-DIN circular connectors with eight (8) pins. For primary communications, the front panel port is defined as the primary port that allows for communication with all of the programming workstations, including HMI, or human machine interface, and SCADA, or supervisory control and data acquisition, systems. The other port is the programming port which is only used for programming of controllers, online edits, and testing. These ports function simultaneously.
