The 1762-IR4 is an analog input module by Allen-Bradley. This module provides an interface for resistance generating devices and resistance temperature detectors (RTD). In addition to temperature measurement, another application of this module is in the measurement of the displacement in components, such as cylinders and clamping devices. This input module is compatible with the MicroLogix series 1100, 1200, and 1400. The number of modules that are supported depends on the controller. The 1762-IR4 has 6 input channels available. This module uses Delta-Sigma conversion to process the analog data from the inputs and save it to a register. The data can be formatted as percent full scale, scaled for PID, engineering units x1 and x10, and raw/proportional. While the module performs auto-calibration each time the channel is enabled, it can also be programmed to calibrate itself at 5-minute intervals. The input module supports 3 types of RTDs and 2 types of resistance devices. The supported resistance devices are 2-wire and 3-wire. The supported RTD types are 2-wire, 3-wire, as well as 4-wire. After the module's installation, the operation details are required to be configured for each channel. The 1762-IR4 uses the 1762 bus interface for communication. This module is capable of being mounted via a panel or a DIN rail. this product has physical dimensions that measure 90 mm x 87 mm x 40 mm.
