Allen-Bradley 1761-L16BBB MicroLogix 1000 16-point DC controller is a product of Allen Bradley/Rockwell Automation and it belongs to the MicroLogix 1000 product line. It comes with multiple inputs and outputs, and has 10, 24 volts DC inputs, 4 MOSFET sourcing outputs with a current of 3 amperes per controller, as well as 2 relay outputs including 2 isolated relays per unit. The 1761-L16BBB controller is capable of high-speed input and outputs because it has a high-speed input of 6.6 kilohertz. It features LED indicators that helps the user to monitor and keep track of its current condition. The LED indicators on the 1761-L16BBB controller are output, input and status LEDs; besides it comes with a master control relay safety feature. The 1761-L16BBB controller has a sink/source power supply of 24 volts DC input and output power and it is enclosed in a NEMA IP20 enclosure type. Its real input power is 5 watts at 24 volts DC as well as 1500 volts AC isolation. The 24V DC user supply and the chassis ground are both connected internally. This MicroLogix controller by Allen Bradley comes with a 1 kilobyte EEPROM memory with two communication ports including the DF1 and RS-232 ports. It also features a maximum of 40 timers and typical response time of 2 milliseconds for program scan time per Kword, and a typical input and output scan time of 0.21 milliseconds. The controller can either mount on DIN rail or a panel. It has approximate dimensions of 4.72 x 1.57 x 3.15 inches.
The current per controller with a relay of 1440 Volts-ampere is 3 amperes with a triad of 1440 Volts-ampere. The current per common with a relay of 8.0 ampere is 3 amperes. The controller should be mounted horizontally within an enclosure using either the DIN rail or mounting screw option. The controller can also be mounted vertically within an enclosure using mounting screws or a DIN rail. To ensure the stability of the controller, it is best to use mounting screws. When mounting your controller vertically, the nameplate should be facing downward. In solid-state control systems, grounding helps limit the effects of noise due to electromagnetic interference (EMI). Run the ground connection from the ground screw of the controller (third screw from left on output terminal rung) to the ground bus. Use the heaviest wire gauge listed for wiring your controller. All devices connected to the user 24V power supply or the RS-232 channel must be referenced to chassis ground or floating. Failure to follow this procedure may result in property damage or personal injury. Any MicroLogix 1000 DC input can be configured as sinking or sourcing depending on how the DC COM terminal is wired. Sinking is when the input energizes when high-level voltage is applied to the input terminal (active high) where the connection is the power supply VDC (-) to the corresponding DC COM terminal. Sourcing is when the input energizes when low-level voltage is applied to the input terminal (active low) where the connection is the power supply VDC (+) to the corresponding DC COM terminal.
