Allen Bradley has designed and created this module with catalog number 1756-IF16H. This module was created as an analog input module, and it is also a component of the ControlLogix PAC series 1756. The input module is compatible with the detachable terminal blocks known as the 1756-TBCH and the 1756-TBS6H. Aside from that, the signals sent to this module are to be terminated using a single wire connection and the wire diameter should be between twenty-two (22) and fourteen (14) American Wire Gauge, or AWG, and the wire type should be solid or stranded copper wire suitable for temperatures up to one hundred and fifteen (115) degrees Celsius, which is the equivalent of two hundred and twenty-one (221) degrees in Fahrenheit. The wire's maximum insulation thickness should be 1.2 millimeters, which translates to 3/64 inches. Moreover, there are about sixteen (16) differential current signals available, with input current ratings ranging from zero (0) to twenty (20) milliamperes or four (4) to twenty (20) milliamperes. In order to process input data using consecutive approximations, this Allen Bradley module employs an Analog-Digital Converter (ADC). The 1756-IF16H has a conversion resolution range of 16 to 21 bits. Real-time sampling, as well as under- and over-range detection, are included in the 1756-IF16H. Wire-off detection is also available.
