The 1715-IB16D module was designed and manufactured by Allen Bradley / Rockwell Automation. This device is a 16-channel digital input module from the 1715 redundant I/O series. This device has galvanically separated input channels for safety and equipment protection. When used in combination alongside the simplex termination assembly 1715-TASIB16D, this digital input is not isolated. Internal diagnostic testing and a watchdog feature are included in the 1715-IB16D. It enables the replacement and removal of components while the unit is online, with no interruption of signals as long as the device is in duplex mode. The module may be configured to operate in either a simplex or duplex mode. The setup program allows you to pick the needed number of modules, as well as one of the two terminating assemblies. The device uses 260 milliamperes from the backplane at a voltage range of 18 to 32 volts DC. The slew rates are set at 3600 volts per second.
