The PanelView Plus 7 standard terminal 2711P-T6C21D8S has a VGA display size of 5.7 inches with an aspect ratio of 4:3 and resolution of 640 x 480. The terminal has a DC input power of 18 to 30 Volts DC isolated with aluminum and stainless steel terminals and an Ethernet port for communication of 10/100 Mbps communication rate. The terminal also comes with 512 MB of RAM and 512 MB of nonvolatile memory, out of which roughly 80 MB is available to the user. It has an analog resistive touch type input. The PCI slot has a maximum available power of 11 Watts. It can operate in the temperature range of 0 to 55°C and can be stored or transported in a more tolerant temperature range of -25 to 70°C with a relative humidity of 5 to 95%, non-condensing. The robust unit can withstand shock of 15 g for a duration of 11 milliseconds while operating and up to 30 g for 11 milliseconds when out of service. The unit weighs 1.7 kilograms (3.8 pounds). The enclosure ratings available are NEMA Type 12, 13, 4X, IP54, and IP65. The panel is certified for C-UL, UL Listed, CE mark, Class I Div. 2 Groups A, B, C, D, Class II Div. 2 Groups F & G, and Class III Div. 1, as well as C-Tick requirements.

Part number 2711P-T6C21D8S is an operator terminal of the PanelView Plus 7 product line that was designed and manufactured by the company known as Allen-Bradley. The primary purpose of this device is to provide a connection between a controller (usually a ControlLogix) and an operator. With the PanelView Plus 7 series, there are some new possibilities in making not only new applications and visualizations, but also control and debugging. This terminal has a tool for making the applications suitable for the operator to view the production process and to know the status of selected points or devices on Ethernet/IP network.

The touchscreen interface equipped onto this device has a 1 million press actuation rating and can withstand an operating force of one hundred (100) grams. This device requires twenty-four (24) volts DC (direct current) to operate. Additionally, the internal storage, of which there is 512 megabytes of RAM and 512 megabytes of nonvolatile flash memory, may be increased using cards (internal) and also external flash drives. The maximum number of connections of this device are one (1) controller, one hundred (100) screens, and five hundred (500) alarms. There are two (2) USB ports and one (1) Ethernet port to handle anything communication related. Additionally, the Ethernet communication supports linear and star topology. However, it does not support ring topology, where DLR is required. 

When mounting the 2711P-T6C21D8S, there must be clearance around the panel to allow for the appropriate ventilation and cables. The top of the panel should have a minimum clearance of 51 (fifty-one) millimeters, or 2 (two) inches. The bottom side of the panel should have a minimum clearance of 51 (fifty-one) millimeters, as well. The side of the panel with the SD card should have a clearance of at least 51 (fifty-one) millimeters and the side without the SD card should have a minimum clearance of 25 (twenty-five) millimeters.
