Allen-Bradley's 2711P-K4M3D is a PanelView Plus 400 terminal. It is a small and low-cost solution for human-machine interactions. This terminal is fitted with a monochrome passive matrix, FSTN display. Its display measures 3.5 inches diagonally. It has a 3 x 2.3-inch effective display area. The terminal is outfitted with a keyboard to register operator inputs. The keyboard contains numeric and navigational keys, as well as eight programmable function keys. It includes a base unit with an RS-232 serial communication connecter and a USB port. Using modem connections, RS-232 enables full-duplex communication for PLC systems. The terminal supports DH485 communication over a serial interface. It also features point-to-point protocol and file uploads/downloads. The RS-232 port on this terminal is not electrically isolated. The base unit also includes one Ethernet port which enables communication by transferring information over the network cable. This port is used by this terminal for IP networking, printing, and application file management. Operators are also able to attach an additional communication module over the network interface. The terminal has five MB of application flash memory as well as a CompactFlash slot (max. 512 MB). It is operated by the use of a DC power source and demands 18 to 30 volts. It offers IP54, IP65, NEMA TYPE 4x, 12, and 13 enclosure ratings. The unit weighs approximately 1.24 pounds and measures 6.0 x 7.28 x 3.54 inches (width x height x depth).
