Allen-Bradley designed and produced the 2711P-B6C3D operator terminal unit as part of the PanelView Plus 600 product line. The primary role of this operator terminal is to establish real-time communication among machines and processes via a functional interface to Allen-Bradley and third-party Customizable Logic Controllers. This operator platform is compatible with PLC5 and ControlLogix , as well as CompactLogix, MicroLogix , and also  SLC500 processors.

For sharing information with devices, the 2711P-B6C3D has an interconnected DH485 interaction connector, an RS232 interaction port, an ethernet communication hub for modern integration and networking, and a USB contact terminal for linking multiple input peripherals along with a keyboard and mouse, and also external storage mechanisms.
