The Allen-Bradley PanelView 2711P-B6C20A8 is an operator panel specifically designed to cater to the diverse needs of an industrial automation system. The primary function of the panel is to display objects on the screen, but it can also be used as an input device. The device can be used in a variety of industrial environments to actuate the machine components of a control system. The terminal is equipped with a random access memory capacity of 256 megabytes and also contains a non-volatile memory capacity of 512 megabytes. Of the total memory capacity of the operator terminal package, 73 megabytes can be used by the operator to store data and files. The panel is also equipped with a USB port that can connect to an external storage device and further accentuate the storage capabilities of the panel.

The Allen-Bradley PanelView 2711P-B6C20A8 is equipped with a dual input mechanism feature that offers the user a higher degree of flexibility. The entry of data into the control system through the panel can be carried out using either the keypad or the touch screen. This allows the user to further customize data entry into the panel and optimize several processes to improve the efficiency of the control system. An RS-232 serial port is also provided with the operator terminal package. This port enhances the communication capabilities of the operator panel and allows the user to trigger several functions within the control system. The device can also be configured to operate over an Ethernet network and communicate with remote I/O devices.
