The Allen-Bradley 2711-T10C8L1 is a state-of-the-art operator terminal and is part of the Allen-Bradley / Rockwell Automation of the Allen-Bradley / Rockwell Automation PanelView 1000 Color Terminals. It is fitted with a 10.1-inch color touch display which gives the user an easier and more interactive experience. The touch screen module has 384 touch cells which allow for clear and accessible information input. The operator terminal requires an input power ranging rate at 24 volts of direct current. The device houses an RS-232 printer port that can be used to connect to a printer. This connection enables the user to print terminal logs and other data in the background while the operator terminal performs its usual functions. The RS-232 port can also be used to connect to an RS-232 port of a personal computer. It also has a DH+ port which can be used to connect to a PLC-5, SLC 5/04, or ControlLogix controller on a DH+ link. The entire operator terminal is housed within a NEMA 12/13 or 4X enclosure which provides durability and ample ventilation to the operator terminal. The device is equipped with a total application flash memory of 1,008 kilobytes.

The 2711-T10C8L1 comes equipped with several communication ports. There is one data highway plus (DH+) communication port. And then there is one RS232 printer interface port. The input voltage rating on this terminal is 18-32 volts of direct current. 24 volts direct current is the nominal input supply power on it. It features the standard NEMA Type enclosure. In addition to the user memory, it also features a dedicated application memory amounting to 310 kilobytes. The application memory amounts to 1008 kilobytes of nonvolatile memory. It is used to store application memory, and text, and bitmaps. 

The display on the 2711-T10C8L1 comes with many advanced features such as the active matrix thin-film resistor (TFT) technology. Furthermore, it also comes with the (CCF) backlight. The display screen is divided into 24 columns. Each of these 24 columns is further divided into 16 rows. There are a total of 384 separate cells on this operator interface. Each of the touch cells has a dimension of 26 pixels x 30 pixels. At optimal temperature, the built-in LED has a lifespan of 50,000 hours. The lifespan drops down to half of it when the terminal is placed at 25 degrees Celsius.
