The integrated keypad assembly provides the operator interface, which is comprised of a variety of buttons, including numeric input keys, directional buttons, confirm and cancel buttons, and ten (10) completely programmable function keys. These buttons are rated for 1 million actuations.

Through the inbuilt DH485 communication connection, the 2711-K5A3L1 interfaces with partner automation devices, such as Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), gateways, converters, and other third-party devices. This port natively supports SLC 500 or MicroLogix processors and, through communication adapters, PLC5, CompactLogix, and ControlLogix systems. The 2711-K5A3L1 is intended for use in NEMA Type 12, 13, and 4X enclosures. Recommended mounting clearances are 25mm (1 inch) on all sides (except the bottom), and 38.1 mm (1.5 inches) on the bottom. These clearances guarantee that the item receives sufficient airflowing to avoid overheating.

The 2711-K5A3L1 has built-in keys spanning from F1 to F10 that are assignable dynamically. With sophisticated alarm capabilities, one can effortlessly enter different instructions and important details as well as establish alerts.
